Abstract
After asking myself the questions “what is ‘travel’?” and “who are you after coming ‘home’?” I decided to explore my thoughts using a camera and the process of making a film, following Otto Neurath’s famous saying “Words divide, pictures unite.” Among the “tales” I will tell in my film, in addition to moments captured on the Zhelezka Mobile Summer School trip, are comparisons between Victor Turin’s 1929 film Turksib and John Ford’s 1924 Iron Horse, and a reflection of what happened to the indigenous peoples in the U.S. and the Soviet Union as a result of railway development.

Keywords
Travel, home, pictures, words, indigenous.
